Bug hit me for six but I'm back writing -- Amy

ACTRESS Amy Huberman got her new year off to a less than ideal start after being hit with a stomach bug.

The former Clinic actress and novelist (32) has revealed how her 2012 had gotten off to a slow start after being hit by a "hideous gastric bug" which knocked her for six.

But she expects to be back on her feet shortly as she continues working on her second book, a follow on to her bestseller Hello Heartbreak -- completing the tome is one of her new year's resolutions.

Brian O'Driscoll's other half spent much of last year living over in London as she filmed her new comedy series Threesome, which aired to acclaim with high expectations of a second installment.

And the ambitious actress also hopes to finish work on the follow up to her first literary offering, after hiring out a quiet office in south Dublin so she can give it her full attention.

"I have written a good bit of it but I haven't touched it in seven months. I can't even remember what it's about so I need to do my homework," she said.

"I'm going to get my head down. I've rented an office to write it, which is a first for me. No more PJs watching Jeremy Kyle going, 'it's so hard to work from home'.

"I had been talking about doing it for ages and I said, 'I'll just do it'. It's nice to have an office because then you can just relax when you get home -- because that was the problem. I felt like I should be working all day and then getting nothing done, so it's all good."
