Brippa team up with Keanes for Valentine's double date

CELEBS: Romance in air with wedding day not far off

LOVED-UP Brian Ormond and Pippa O'Connor have been warming up for Valentine's Day in a double date with Claudine and Robbie Keane.

The Herald can reveal how the celebrity couples turned heads in Town Bar and Grill last night with a discreet dinner.

Obviously in need of a good night out after sustaining a torn calf muscle in West Ham's 1-0 home defeat to Birmingham City last Sunday, onlookers said Ireland striker Robbie appeared to be in "good form" during his night out in the Kildare Street restaurant.

And there was no shortage of gossip either, given that 'Brippa' are getting married in the same venue as Claudine and Robbie, the Ritz Carlton Powerscourt, on June 18.

The Keanes got married there in a glam-filled affair in 2008 at the Wicklow hotel, with the bash lasting two days. They now have a baby son, Robert Ronan, who was born in 2009.

"Pippa and Claudine would know each other very well from the modelling scene and would generally move in the same circles. They've been good friends for years and love nothing more than a good chin-wag," said a pal.

"They were invited to Robbie and Claudine's wedding, and no doubt they'll be returning the favour. This is always an exciting time, the months before a wedding, so there's plenty to catch up on.

"Robbie and Claudine always make an effort to see their friends and family when they come back to Ireland, even if it's just for a short visit."

Robbie had to miss Tuesday's Carling Nations Cup victory against Wales after sustaining the torn calf muscle and could be laid up for six weeks.

Meanwhile, Pippa and Brian will be marking their last Valentine's Day before they get married by having another dinner out with pals on Monday.

Flying

Pippa revealed how they'll be joining another group of friends at the restaurant in Palmerstown House, near her home town of Johnstown, Co Kildare. Then she'll be flying off to New York shortly afterwards to New York to pick up her wedding dress.

She's heading over with her bridesmaid, Niamh and Brian's sister Anne Marie as they collect her dream dress from a top American store.

"I'm really excited about that. That's always a big moment, collecting your dress, so once I have that done I'll be fairly organised. I'm not too nervous yet. Hopefully I'll stay that way," she added.
