Brian's Legally Blonde sister in line for top theatre gong

WEST End star Susan McFadden's career just seems to be going from strength to strength.

The Diary can reveal how Brian McFadden's talented sibling (left) has been nominated for a prestigious accolade in the 2012 Whatsonstage.com Awards, which celebrates the best performances in theatre.

Organised by entertainment guide timeout.com, the Artane-born singer has been given the nod in the Best Takeover in a Role category.

She'll be going up against such luminaries as Little Britain's Matt Lucas, who was nominated for his role in Les Miserables as well as Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh for Shrek The Musical. Stunning Susan took over the part of Elle Woods in the hit production of Legally Blonde from her predecessor Sheridan Smith last year and played the part of the Chihuahua-loving blonde with aplomb.

As well as being up for an award, she is also busy rehearsing for her forthcoming tour of America after winning a place in global music sensation Celtic Woman. She'll join the all-female group as it gears up for the release of the brand new CD/DVD Believe and supporting 60-city North American tour. Susan, who got her big break after winning ITV reality show Grease Is The Word, is currently replacing founding member Lisa Kelly, who is expecting her fourth child.

She's also due to welcome in a new sister-in-law in the form of model Vogue Williams (left with Brian) later this year.
