Bono joins Rob in raising a glass to Blues' cup victory
Injury may have kept him off the pitch, but Leinster star Rob Kearney still celebrated his side's latest victory in style when he partied alongside Bono over the weekend.
The Diary spotted the top sportsman at celebrity haunt Lillie's Bordello, where he had the chance to rub shoulders with the U2 singer and his glamorous wife Ali Hewson.
Fresh from a romantic break to LA with his actress girlfriend Susie Amy, Rob (24) was out celebrating his teammates' impressive victory on Saturday with a number of pals at the celebrity club.
Bono meanwhile had enjoyed dinner at the Cliff Townhouse on St Stephen's Green with Ali, before enjoying a few drinks at exclusive members' club Residence, rounding their evening off at Grafton Street haunt Lillie's.
After a busy few months of globetrotting, the world-renowned rocker has been making the most of his time on home turf, recently enjoying a family outing to the Leopardstown, where his daughter Eve went public with her new beau James Lafferty.
On Saturday night, Bono and Ali were joined by Ngozo Okonjo-Iweala, managing director of the World Bank and former Minister of Finance in Nigeria.
The high-profile group were immediately shown upstairs to the club's VIP library area, where Bono was spotted congratulating Rob on his team's success on the pitch earlier that evening.
The hunky rugby player was also keen to show there were no hard feelings with his team's rivals on the pitch, Saracens, taking the time to chat to members of the team and their management, who also decamped to the city centre hotspot following their defeat at the RDS.
And while the group were given the VIP treatment at the exclusive venue, co-owner Oliver Hughes was not on hand to meet them, given that he is currently in the States, getting the chain's New York branch of the Porterhouse off the ground.
He has been busy showing celebs the star treatment at his Big Apple pub, with Irish pop trio The Script last night dropping in for a drink.
