Beyonce in Dublin: It's a bootiful day

Find out where Beyonce hung out in Dublin, where she shopped ... and what her real dress size is

Superstar Beyonce brought her own bootylicious style to the capital city this week after splashing the cash on designer dresses in a top Dublin boutique.

And despite being hailed as a curvy icon, in reality she takes a tiny size 8 when it comes to her sexy stage dresses.

The Herald can reveal how the Crazy In Love singer spent several thousand euro in upmarket store Chica in the Westbury Mall during a shopping trip with her mum Tina.

She spent nearly an hour choosing a range of jewellery and designer gowns to add to her already-bulging wardrobe after arriving with a sizeable entourage.

"Her security guys came in first and they were so huge, one of the girls says, 'Is there a basketball team over or something?'" explained co-owner Mary-Kate Ryan.

"I'd be quite good with faces and then the next minute, her mum Tina Knowles walks into the store and she was with Beyonce's stylist and her PA. The next minute she walks in and the irony is, we had her new album playing in the shop!

Petite

"She's very pretty in person and has a great figure, she's about 5ft 7in. People say she has this big ass but she doesn't at all -- she's extremely petite. All the dresses she bought were a size 8."

And far from throwing her weight around with diva demands, Beyonce asked for no special treatment as she browsed through the store.

She even signed autographs and posed for pics for the handful of gob-smacked fans who recognised her.

"We've had a lot of famous people in before, like Girls Aloud, and they usually ring ahead. But with her, she just walked in with her entourage and didn't ask for the shop to be closed or anything. Other people were shopping away while she was in there and she had no problem with it. She was very pleasant," she continued.

Chilled-out Beyonce, who plays the last of her sell-out gigs in the O2 this evening, also asked for advice on a good place to cool down in the sweltering weather.

"She was asking us if we could recommend a good beach somewhere and we were telling her how it was really unusual for Dublin to be this hot.

"We told her to go out somewhere more scenic like the Powerscourt Waterfall in Enniskerry, as she might get some more privacy somewhere like that," Mary-Kate said.

Beyonce, who is currently embarking on a sell-out worldwide tour, I Am..., has no problem spending some of her €500m earnings. The bling-tastic singer bought a string of glitzy accessories including Goddess Lux bracelets, some Mawi necklaces and some Bijuteri earings.

Delight

In a spree totally more than €2,000, she also snapped up half a dozen Chica own-brand dresses, much to the owners' delight -- a trio of sisters who designed their own range. "This is our third collection now and watching Beyonce go through the dresses, my heart was just beating in my chest the whole time. I was like, 'This isn't happening,'" laughed Mary-Kate.

"When she was leaving, I said, 'Thanks so much for coming into the store,' and she replied how she liked our music as she was humming away to her own album. It was all very surreal."

Meanwhile, she was also turning heads in the Phoenix Park earlier this week.

Paul McQuaid, who runs Phoenix Park Bike Hire, said he was bowled over after she came up to collect her bike to go for a cycle around Dublin.

As our exclusive pictures reveal, she was whizzing around the streets of the capital doing some sight-seeing during a rare day off.
