Back to school for Emma as she hands Miss Ireland crown to Holly

EMMA WALDRON has vowed to continue modelling despite handing over her Miss Ireland crown to Holly Carpenter.

The Celbridge beauty told the Diary that she is determined to continue her career in the modelling industry despite her Miss Ireland reign coming to an end on Saturday night.

Emma (22), who is also about to return to college to finish a degree in primary school teaching, revealed that she will continue to work as a model with AR.

The brunette says she's inked a new deal to become the brand ambassador for the famous jewellery designer Thomas Sabo. "I won't stop modelling. I was just called to do a photo shoot with Thomas Sabo in Germany, I'm so excited to be their brand ambassador. So that's something I'm really looking forward to," she revealed.

Emma said she will continue to attend events and working on her very own jewellery line with Crystals & Co.

But she will also complete her teaching practice in the coming months. Speaking to the Diary at the Miss Ireland finals, Emma said she felt strange handing over her crown.

"I'm feeling mixed emotions. I'm sad because it is an end of an era and a really special year for me but then I'm also really happy because I've so many new things coming my way," she explained.

However, Emma said that Holly was a great choice and advised her to remain true to herself and not let all the hype go to her head.

"I would say to her to stay grounded and don't lose your friends and don't lose sight of you want to be. This title isn't something you earn, it's something you are blessed with, so you need to be grateful of it and stay humble," said Emma.
