TV3 star Anna Daly felt the wrath of celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo this week when the Italian TV personality threw a strop -- over her height.
The Ireland Am presenter explained how she had been about to begin recording a cooking segment with the I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here winner for the early morning programme last Monday, when he demanded that she take off her high heels in order to make him look taller.
Anna, who admits she was conscious of her 5ft 9in stature when she was a teen, told the Diary how she reluctantly obliged in order to appease the fiery cook. "When he realised that he was smaller than me he was really thrown by it. At first I thought he was joking but he was genuinely bothered by it," she said.
"He started saying, 'This is ridiculous, you've got high heels on. You're cheating by being taller than me. You're making me look like an eejit'.
"Eventually I had to take off my shoes and do the piece in my bare feet for the sake of a quiet life.
"During my teenage years I would have been quite conscious of my height and of being taller than everyone else, but now I think it's great. I stand tall and work it as an asset.
"If smaller people want to be intimidated by my height than that's their issue. I'm not going to dress it down," she added.
