Andrea's agency takes over for Diva Next Door

MODEL boss Andrea Roche secured another coup for her agency today when it was announced that AR models will be affiliated with the Diva Next Door contest this year instead of Assets.

The Diary can reveal how the Tipperary beauty is set to sign the overall winner of the pageant to her books, as well as take over as head judge at the annual event.

Andrea (33) will step into the shoes of her former mentor, Courtney O'Hara from Assets, who has been on the panel for the past three years.

The news will come as a blow to the respected agency, which has already lost top models Rosanna Davison, Pippa O'Connor and Sarah McGovern to Andrea's firm since she launched last month.

The brunette beauty will perform her first judging duties this Saturday when she steps out to the Morgan hotel from 12pm to begin whittling down aspiring contestants to just 20 girls.

"We had Assets from the start and I just felt it was time for a fresh take on things," said pageant organiser Stephen Saleh. "We wanted to work with a new agency and we're backing Andrea's agency all the way.

"This will inject new life into the judging panel. It's now the fourth cycle and we're hoping to find a girl that will really stand out and do us proud."

Andrea will be joined on the panel by current title holder Terrie McEvoy, who was third in last year's Miss Ireland.

Terrie's successor will be officially announced on November 21 at the grand finale of Toys 4 Big Boys.

This year will also see the launch of a new world version of the popular contest, as well as a contest for males called the Hunk Next Door.
