Amy's shock as she takes on US stars in battle for Glamour comedy gong

ACTRESS Amy Huberman has revealed her shock at being nominated for a prestigious Glamour Award .

The 33-year-old leading lady has been given the nod for her role in Threesome and will face some stiff competition for the UK gong.

The WAG, who impressed critics and viewers alike with her performance as pregnant Alice Heston in the seven-part series, is now set to take on veteran comic stars Tina Fey, who is up for 30 Rock, and Mike & Molly's Melissa McCarthy in the Best Comedy Actress category.

Amy took to her social networking page yesterday after the announcement, admitting she was "in shock".

"[I] can't speak, need to pick myself off the floor first," she tweeted, before joking that she had fainted.

One of the biggest nights of the year, the Glamour Women of the Year awards is set to take place in London on May 29. The Cabinteely native has also been nominated for the Best Actress in a Supporting role at this year's IFTA awards, for Stella Days.

But Amy has insisted she is not expecting to win the gong this time around, saying: "I am surprised to be in the category this year."

Yesterday, the petite actress stepped out to help launch the 10th Dublin International Film Festival, alongside Hollywood star Stellan Skarsgard.

Amy revealed that her hubby, Irish rugby star Brian O'Driscoll, is determined to get back playing.

Drico, who is currently recovering from shoulder surgery, will miss out on this Sunday's Six Nations clash against Wales.

"He is determined to come back better than before," said Amy, who will be going to the match with Brian at the Aviva Stadium.
