Amanda red-faced after call to pray for sick pal Blathnaid
Amanda Brunker has been left feeling a 'twit' after making an internet plea for people to pray for her pal Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh.
RTE refused to comment after Blathnaid (40) fell ill during the All-Ireland Talent Show.
But Amanda tweeted a call to prayer after hearing her showbiz pal had collapsed in agonising stomach pains and was rushed from the Ardmore set to hospital for urgent treatment.
Amanda (37) was bombarded with worried messages from fans, some admitting they had found it difficult to sleep on Sunday evening, such was their concern.
Following extensive tests it was confirmed that Blathnaid's ill health, suspected to be related to her previous problems with a twisted bowel, was not as serious as first thought. A red-faced Amanda tweeted last night: "Good news. All good with Blathnaid folks. Sorry for worrying you all last night."
Meanwhile an RTE spokesperson finally commented on the panic, telling the Herald how Blathnaid was hoping to make a swift recovery and be well enough to return for next weekend's All-Ireland Talent Show.
