Actress Tara tells of tearful reunion with mum

ACTRESS Tara Leniston had an emotional reunion after a surprise visit from her mum.

Tara (26) hadn't seen her beloved mother in two years, since her parents moved to New Zealand.

But the family gave her a brilliant surprise when they all turned up for an emotional holiday reunion.

Tara has been loved-up with her TV presenter beau Andrew Fowler since 2008, and gave birth to their son DJ in February.

And while she revealed it was heartbreaking going through pregnancy and labour without her mum by her side, she was at the centre of a teary-eyed reunion with her entire family last week.

"My whole family back together for the first time in seven years," she revealed.

Writing on her blog, A Diary Of A Yummy Mummy And Jet Setting Baby, she revealed that her fiance flew her mum home for the holidays.

"Andrew flew my mum over all the way from New Zealand. I haven't seen her in two years," she explained.

"It was very emotional for a number of reasons, the main one being it was the first time for her to meet DJ, her first grandchild. It has been a long, hard two years being pregnant, and having my first baby without her, so you can imagine the tears."

And the blonde beauty said that she was "overwhelmed" with joy at spending the festive season with her entire family.

"Having my whole family here for DJ's first Christmas just meant the world to me," she said.

"DJ was a little overwhelmed by all the people here and all the presents, he thought all the presents were for him and wanted to open them all."

Tara has been dating Fowler for nearly two years, after meeting him through mutual friends, with the strapping TV star going down on bended knee during a trip to Malta last year.

The pair first went public with their romance in 2008 after being spotted in a passionate embrace at the Fireball in the Shelbourne Hotel. He has worked in a variety of TV jobs but made his first foray into the media spotlight on RTE's reality show Cabin Fever in 2003.
