THE grieving family of Gerry Ryan will hold a private mass next week to mark one month since his death.
The hugely popular star died suddenly on April 30 at the age of 53. This Sunday will mark a month since he died.
The Ryan family have organised a month's mind mass in St John the Baptist Church in Clontarf, which is expected to take place on Monday at 11am.
A spokesperson for the family asked for continued respect for the grieving family's privacy at this difficult time.
"There will be a month's mind mass but it is strictly a family affair," she said.
A spokesperson for RTE confirmed that there will be no special memorial transmissions this weekend.
The spokesperson told the Herald: "We currently have two memorial programmes in preparation, one for TV and another documentary for 2FM. Both will be broadcast later in the year but no dates have yet been decided."
