2008 -- the year Baz found fame and fell in love

It really has been quite the year for rising RTE star Baz Ashmawy, who, in just 12 short months, has made his first foray into live television as co-presenter of Failte Towers, landed his very own show, Baz's Culture Clash and fallen in love.

The quirky presenter wants to see out 2008 in style by jetting off to London. "I'm off to London for a few days to ring in the new year.

"It's been non-stop in the last few months between filming How Low Reality Check and then my new show Baz's Culture Clash where I've been around the world living with people with different belief systems.

"I'm looking forward to a bit of a rest and I'm also thinking of trying to get over to Egypt for a sneaky week off after I come back from London.

"My sister lives over there so as well as being a bit of a holiday and some much needed time in the sun, it would be a great chance to catch up with her," he added.

However, the usually outspoken Baz was remaining tight lipped as to whether the lady in his life, Tanya Evans, would be accompanying him.

He did admit, however, that he is completely smitten.

"I'm usually single or just have flittering relationships," he revealed. "This is the year I started seeing someone, so that's been very different. It's going to make this year special," the loved-up presenter added.
