My family were shocked when I kissed an older man, reveals Red Rock star Ann Skelly
Red Rock star Ann Skelly has been inundated with texts and phonecalls from shocked relatives since she first appeared on TV3’s new drama.
Skelly (18) plays the part of schoolgirl Rachel Reid who is embroilled in an illicit affair with Sergeant Brian McGonigle.
“I hadn’t told my family what my character would be doing or who she would be kissing because it was top secret,” she told the Diary.
“So when they saw it on TV I got all these texts and phonecalls from aunties and uncles who were pretty shocked.”
Despite the controversial subject matter, Ann says she feels totally at ease on set.
“Sean [Mahon] who plays Brian is really brilliant so our scenes never feel uncomfortable, even though it is a controversial subject.”
The actress added that while it was a challenging part to play, she is relishing being part of the show.
“I’m studying for my Leaving Cert at the moment and am delighted to be part of the team.”
