I'm not myself on a shoot - I'm playing a character, says top model Roz
Top model Roz Purcell says she gets into character when she's on photoshoots.
The former Miss Universe Ireland is known for her sexy snaps, especially for Newbridge Silverwear, but Roz says those shoots don't phase her.
Her last campaign for the jewellery brand caused controversy after complaints that it was "overtly sexual".
"It was quite funny because when I was watching back the video when there was all the drama about it, I kind of disassociate myself from it, I'm a different character," she said.
"I wouldn't find that overly sexy but I think it's great that they take all complaints into consideration.
"The next one is going to be even more risque. But I was just playing a part, when I go to a job and they ask me to play a part, I just do it - I love making videos as well as photo shoots," Roz added.
The Tipperary native also revealed that she doesn't get shy on those sets.
"I'm the most comfortable person - no matter what shape I'm in, I'm pretty confident, I'll walk around in whatever," Roz said.
"It's kind of a collective group of people who I trust, when I get behind a camera I'm not playing myself, it's just a job, I'm not really Roz," she added.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old has landed her second cover of Irish Tatler magazine and will also appear on tonight's episode of The Restaurant on TV3, but Roz says she wasn't nervous about it getting too hot in the kitchen.
"I wasn't that nervous because I'm used to cooking on TV," she admitted.
"I find cooking very therapeutic and obviously it's a little bit different when there's cameras on your face - I kept picking at all the food because I eat when I'm stressed.
"It was quite hard - I didn't realise you hear the criticism in the kitchen but you so hear compliments as well.
"It was hard, but in my job I'm used to hearing harsh comments about myself," she added.
Roz is signed to the books of the Andrea Roche Model Agency and admits now that she's cooking so much, she's had to up her fitness game.
"I always would have done a lot of training when I was younger - I was on every sports team but now with the blog I have to up my game," she said.
"I really enjoy running alone because it really clears my head but if I'm going on a long cycle I prefer to be in a group.
"It can be a bit boring or lonely when you're out on the bike for two or three hours on your own," she added.
