A 15-year-old boy facing a robbery charge has been sent back to a detention centre for three more weeks to complete educational and psychological assessments.

Last week, the boy had been held in custody after the Children's Court learned that his parents could not cope and wanted him held in a juvenile detention centre.

Yesterday, Judge Aingeal Ni Chonduin directed a further three week remand for the assessments to be completed.

The boy is charged with robbing a handbag containing €75 from a woman, in north Dublin, on November 8 last.

The victims were all natives from southwestern Yunnan province.

Media held at Jacko hearing

A court officer briefly detained a group of journalists inside a Las Vegas courtroom following a hearing involving Michael Jackson's personal physician.

The group was blocked from leaving for several minutes yesterday while Dr. Conrad Murray and his lawyers were hustled from the Clark County Family Court building.

A court spokesman said the move may have been made to 'maintain safety and decorum'.

Murray was in court to answer charges that he failed to make child support payments to a California woman and her son.

15 years jail for Tibet protestor

The founder of a Tibetan literary website has been sentenced to 15 years in a Chinese prison on charges of disclosing state secrets, campaigners said.

The International Campaign for Tibet said they have received reports that Kunchok Tsephel (39) was convicted on November 12 in a closed-door trial in Gansu province.

Some of the charges are believed to be related to content posted on his influential website and also for passing on information about last year's anti-government protests.
