The jilted husband of Cristiano Ronaldo's new love has said that his Ukrainian wife hunted down the star footballer.

Millionaire John Haynes (50) branded his wife Alyona (25) of being a "cheat and a bloody liar".

"She has been betraying both of us," said the businessman speaking from his penthouse at Altrincham, Cheshire. "She should have come with a health warning."

Mr Haynes claimed that his wife, who calls herself Ally, passed herself off as single to reel in Manchester United winger, revealing: "she kept me dangling in case it didn't work out with him".

He said that although his wife, has been telling everyone that they were separated, he was unaware that this was the case.

"She's telling Ronaldo ... that we split up long ago, but that's news to me," he said. "Ally handed me a card on my birthday, the Tuesday before last, and says, 'I'm still your true friend and still your wife'."

He said that the couple then "went together as man and wife", saying that this was "just one of the numerous occasions we've been intimate in the past few months while she's been trying to line up Mr Ronaldo as my replacement".

Cleaning firm boss Mr Haynes met his wife through a lonely hearts website linking women from the former Soviet Union and British men. They married two years ago.

Mr Haynes said he does not blame the Portuguese footballer for the relationship, which he doesn't believe will last.

"He has not stolen Ally -- she's to blame," he stated. "Ronaldo can have any woman he likes. Why would he set his sights on a married Ukrainian girl? He'll walk away. His mother won't let him stick with her."

The Ukrainian brunette and Cristiano Ronaldo (23), were spotted leaving a restaurant together and are said to have grown close after going on a series of romantic dates.

Mrs Haynes, who works at Selfridges in Manchester met the footballer in a restaurant in late August and a week later, Mr Haynes found the first of 300 texts the pair exchanged.
