Zamel-Paez flies high in Oz

In Brisbane, Clonliffe high jumper Liam Zamel-Paez finished second in the Australian National Championships with a height of 2.20m, just missing out at 2.28m.

Highlight of the Glo Health Spring Throws competition in Athlone was a 55.80m effort from Michaela Walsh of Swinford to win the women's hammer.

Also impressing was Eoin Sheridan of North Westmeath who won the men's discus with 54.08m.

On the final day of the Glo Health Juvenile Indoors, Emerald's Ciara Neville ran 24.01 secs to win the U17 200m.
