Tymon Tigers will test Plunkett's pedigree
dublin SFC SEMI-FINAL
ST JUDE'S v ST OLIVER PLUNKETT'S/EOGHAN RUADH
(Parnell Park, Today, 3.30)
JUDE'S were brilliant against Brigid's the last day. Brigid's didn't get their first score until first half injury-time.
The Templeogue team played with so much resolve.
And then there was the hat-trick of goals by Kevin McManamon. All finished with polish.
Plunkett's have felled two giants, Kilmacud Crokes and Ballymun Kickhams. They also overcame Anne's. Now they are an hour away from their first final since 2011.
This is the third time in succession that Jude's have reached the semi-final. They played in their first and only final in 2009, losing to Ballyboden.
Like Plunkett's, the Tymon men have never won the golden chalice. Both bring a quick tempo to the turf.
Oisin Manning, Paul Cunningham and Rob Finnegan closed off every avenue and alleyway against Brigid's.
Tom McKeown and Chris Guckian bring vast experience. Collie Murphy and Paul Maguire offer much, while Brendan McManamon's guile can open windows.
Alan and Bernard Brogan top the bill for Plunkett's. There's energy and know-how in the boots of Craig Dunleavy, Declan Lally, Niall Walsh and chief engineer, the elegant Nesty Smith.
Shane Lyons and Rory O'Connor are excellent defenders.
VERDICT: St Oliver Plunkett's/ER
