Talented Tots have Funday at Monastery

one hundred and sixth girls had a ball at the Monastery.

Eight clubs took part in the Round Towers U9 Ladies Football Blitz.

Joining hosts Tower's were Na Fianna, Kilmacud Crokes, St Finian's (Swords), Raheny, Ballinteer St John's, St Olaf's and Thomas Davis.

"There was so much skill on display," reports Maria Shannon of Tower's.

Ken Byrne, Tower's U8 mentor, was also chuffed with the success of the day.

"It was a real celebration of girls football. And the feedback we get from the clubs is great.

"It's a brilliant opportunity for these young players to play against a host of Dublin clubs and to develop their skills in a fun setting.

"At Tower's, we are strongly focused on developing the game at juvenile level, and this event showcases the enjoyment the girls can get from playing Gaelic games."

Get Fresh on the Monastery Road supplied the fruit. Bernard O'Sullivan brought the yoghurts and juices.

Every child left with a goody bag….and a smile.
