STEPHEN Quinn is planning for a very quick return to the Premier League with his new club, Reading.

There's an Irish angle to the move as Royals boss Steve Clarke effectively sealed the deal to sign Quinn and compatriot Paul McShane while there were in Dublin on international duty last summer, and Quinn is more than pleased with his decision to leave Hull.

"It's a really good club and they are pushing for promotion, the owners from Thailand and they are looking to spend big, they are pushing for the Premier League and I want that too, that's why I joined, I want another crack at the Premier League.

"Hull have started the season well, I loved my three years there, with McShane and all the Irish lads, we had some successful years in my eyes as we got to the Premier League and got to the FA Cup final which was brilliant.

"Unfortunately we got relegated last year but things move on fast, Robbie [Brady] has gone and Maccer has gone, he joined me at Reading.

"I am enjoying it there, hopefully I can get another promotion on the CV and get them back to the Premier League. There was constant talk with Hull and I genuinely thought I was going to stay at Hull but Reading came in and the whole package was better for me and my family and I had to take it."
