MANCHESTER CITY have emerged as the red-hot favourites to sign Juventus star Paul Pogba (right) as the Etihad club seek to wrest the Premier League title from Jose Mourinho's grip.
City face a head-on battle with Real Madrid for the Frenchman's services, but it has emerged that Manuel Pellegrini is favourite to bring the 22-year-old back to the Premier League.
Odds on Pogba's departure for the blue side of Manchester have shortened to as low as 6/4 with Real Madrid 12/5 second favourites, while Pogba's former club Manchester United are way out at 16/1.
A fee in the region of £70m has been hung around the midfielder's head, with moneybags Paris St Germain and Barcelona also expressing an interest in European football's hottest property.
The race for Pogba's signature will be a source of great embarrassment to United who let his leave for free back in 2012, during Alex Ferguson's time as Old Trafford supremo.
Meanwhile, City playmaker Samir Nasri is determined to bounce back to form at Manchester City next season.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium after a frustrating, injury-hit 2014-15 campaign. The 27-year-old insists he will not be going anywhere and has vowed to come back strongly as City bid to reclaim the Barclays Premier League title next season.
The midfielder, whose season was ended prematurely by a groin problem, said: "I still have four years left on my contract so what I want now is to be focused on my rehab.
"I'm going to work a lot in pre-season to come back as fit as possible with a new state of mind - then have a great season and win trophies."
