Ward joins Seagulls
STEPHEN WARD has ended his nightmare at Wolves by agreeing a season-long loan move to Championship rivals Brighton, where he joins fellow Dubliner Keith Andrews, writes AIDAN FITZMAURICE.
Ward had been a key figure for Wolves since his 2007 move from Bohemians but following the club's relegation to League One he was cut adrift by new manager Kenny Jackett as the club tried to force him out.
The Portmarnock lad was not given a squad number for the new season and was forced to train with the youth team as he played no part in pre-season.
Ward was linked with a move abroad as clubs in Germany, Turkey and Greece expressed an interest but in the end opted to stay in England and will see out the season at Brighton.
Andrews is at Brighton on loan after leaving Bolton last week.
