Tuchel unsure over future of City target Gundogan
Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel admits he is unsure whether midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will stay at the club following reports linking him with Manchester City.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf has published a picture of Gundogan's uncle and agent, Ilhan Gundogan, apparently meeting with Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain in Amsterdam.
This came soon after Begiristain reportedly met up with incoming City manager Pep Guardiola in the Dutch capital.
Gundogan, 25, who is valued at around £23million, will enter the final year of his contract at Dortmund in the summer.
Tuchel, speaking at a press conference to preview his side's Europa League clash with Tottenham, this evening said: "Am I convinced that he will stay? I don't really know. I can only say that once he has actually signed. I know what we can offer him and if that's enough for him to stay then so be it."
When asked specifically about the photograph, Tuchel said he was not concerned and briefly spoke in English to emphasise this point.
"I'm not disappointed and I'm not convinced," he said.
He added: "I do not understand the excitement about all of this.
"We are also looking forward to next season. We are planning and we speak to advisers and players - it is part of the everyday job we do."
Guardiola will leave his current position at Bayern Munich to take over at City in the summer. City have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks including Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Everton defender John Stones.
The Premier League club have not commented on the latest reports.
