Transfer window could end with a bang for Irish strikers
THE tamest January transfer window on record could yet end with a bang for Ireland strikers Kevin Doyle and Leon Best.
Doyle's continuing goal drought and inability to command a first team place under Mick McCarthy in recent weeks has prompted Everton boss David Moyes to make an enquiry, while Wolves have been chasing a loan deal for Best.
Moyes is also tracking Rangers hitman Nikica Jelavic and is desperate to acquire some new firepower up front before the window slams shut tomorrow.
Doyle signed a new deal at Molineux which runs until 2015 back in September and has never expressed any desire to leave.
But he has only started one of the last six Premier League fixtures for Wolves and knows that his Euro 2012 place is at risk if he cannot get regular football.
