Toure: Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling can turn City into Euro greats

Yaya Toure thinks Manchester City will be one of the most exciting teams in Europe when they are in full flow.

And once new boys Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne are fully integrated into the talented squad, the Ivorian feels the Blue "mayonnaise" will titillate the taste buds of all lovers of gourmet football.

Those two turned on the style in the dismantling of Sunderland in the League Cup on Tuesday night.

But they have not yet added ingredients of pace and precision to a dish that has been carefully mixed for five years.

"In Africa we say it is like mayonnaise - you all blend together," said Toure.

So when they are fully integrated, will City be one of the most thrilling teams in Europe?

"To be honest, I think yes," said Toure. "At Sunderland we missed 11 players with injury - we have two teams!

"It is full credit to chairman who made this happen. We have a tough game coming against Tottenham and we needed this relief, and confidence coming back.

"It is difficult because we have just bought those players like De Bruyne and Sterling. We need to make sure they feel part of the team."

After booking their place in the last 16 of the League Cup, City aim to get back to winning ways in the league at Tottenham tomorrow, and then launch their Champions League campaign at Borussia Monchengladbach next Wednesday.

"It is very important, the next game at Borussia," he said. "We don't feel pressure, we just want to do our best and this season go further and further. We need to get some momentum in Europe like we did at Sunderland."
