rodgers: bring it on

Bullish Liverpool boss looking forward to season finale as Euro chase hots up

BRENDAN Rodgers cannot wait to get stuck into Liverpool's remaining Premier League fixtures and take the battle for Champions League football to his big rivals.

While Chelsea maintained their five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the table last night, the race for the minor places is rapidly becoming the highlight of the season.

And with Liverpool in unstoppable form, Rodgers could not be happier with his current circumstances after turning a deep form slump in November into something much more acceptable to the Kop.

Liverpool have not lost in the last 12 league games - picking up 30 points from a possible 36 having won seven of the last eight with six clean sheets.

"Over the last three months the games have been coming thick and fast but the players have stood up to that and now we have 10 league games to go and it is a period of the season we will look forward to," said Rodgers.

"We have put ourselves in a very good position. At this moment in time we are at a good level and we will continue with that."

Arsenal still hold third position, a point ahead of Manchester United who were relieved to get a late win at Newcastle last night to keep two points ahead of Liverpool.
