Republic star David McGoldrick ready for return to Ipswich action
MICK McCarthy hopes to have Ireland man David McGoldrick back in action this week after injury prevented him from playing a part for Ireland last week.
McGoldrick, 27, had an impressive debut for Ireland against the USA last year but he was out of contention for the Poland tie on Sunday with an injury which has kept him out of the last 10 games for his club.
But the forward has resumed training and is in line to feature in Friday's big clash with Bournemouth.
"We have got a few bodies back now," McCarthy said.
"Didz [McGoldrick] was back out on the training field yesterday and so was Darren Ambrose so that's obviously good news, though we have to be careful with them."
Having gone four games without a win, Ipswich have come back into contention for promotion after winning their last two league games and if they can safely come through the Easter games against Bournemouth and Huddersfield, the side will stand a good chance of a place in the playoffs at least.
Dubliner Dylan Connolly is closer to an Ipswich debut after an impressive display for the Ireland U21s against Andorra last week.
