KENNY Dalglish could turn to Robbie Keane in a desperate bid to fill the huge gap left by Luis Suarez's eight-match ban.

Liverpool decided to waive their right to appeal on behalf of Suarez, who continues to proclaim that he is not guilty of racism, and if the evidence of last night's 3-0 hammering by Manchester City is anything to go by, Dalglish must find an alternative rapidly.

"I will carry out the suspension with the resignation of someone who hasn't done anything wrong and who feels extremely upset by the events," said Suarez.

Speculation suggesting Darren Bent as a possible £23m transfer window buy for Liverpool placed Keane at Villa Park as a temporary replacement but Ireland's record goalscorer is available and is ideally placed to step in for the games Suarez will miss.

Keane, currently back training with Harry Redknapp at Spurs, has also been touted as a possible recruit for Neil Lennon for a second spell at Parkhead.
