Hi °C | Lo °C LEINSTER boss Paul Howard will look to international duo Courtney Higgins and Eleanor Ryan Doyle in tomorrow's FAI Schools Interprovincial Girls Tournament opener against Ulster.
Howard's side kick off their latest attempt to claim the prestigious crown against their northern opponents in Leah Victoria Park at 4pm, before holders Munster clash with Connacht at 5.30 at the Tullamore venue.
Later that evening, the traditional draw for day two and day three's action will take place before Saturday's play at the venue and then Sunday's conclusion at Athlone Town FC.
Ireland Under-15 Schools international boss Jason Carey will be in attendance in order to select his panel for next spring's Bob Docherty Tournament.
St Joseph's College, Lucan star Ryan Doyle and Coláiste Dhúlaigh's Higgins were part of Carey's side earlier this year and will also look to use their experience of last year's Interpros to help their debuting team-mates.
Navan's Amanda McQuillan of Beaufort College received a call-up for the goalkeeping position as did Rebecca Simons from Gaelscholáiste Reachrann.
Balbriggan's Erica Byrne, Niamh Farrelly (St Joseph's, Lucan), Chloe McNamee (St Oliver's, Oldcastle), Lauren O'Callaghan (St McDara's, Templeogue) and Alex Kavanagh (St Michael's, Finglas) are the young guns in the squad looking to shine.
Howard's backroom team consists of Alistair Harvey (St Kilian's DSD), Leanne McGrath (St Thomas' Community College, Bray) and Cerrie Byrne (Ardgillan Community College, Balbriggan).
The coaches will be hoping recent international experience for Amanda McQuillan, Higgins, Chloe Flynn, Byrne, Kavanagh, Jamie Finn, Farrelly and Ryan Doyle in Dave Connell's U16 international development squad will inspire them.
