Poland expect battle

POLAND are expecting a pitch battle in Dublin on Sunday in a match that could decide who qualifies for Euro 2016, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.

The Polish squad assembled in Warsaw yesterday to prepare for Ireland. Their midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak (right) is a key playeer for Europa League quarter-finalists Sevilla, but he predicts that Sunday in Dublin will be all about grit, not glamour.

"This away game is going to be really tough for us, it will be a battle," says Krychowiak.

"If anyone in our camp thinks otherwise they won't get picked because Ireland have a very particular style, they don't leave you alone, even for a second.

"They play well in the air and we must match them at every level. It's a huge match."
