Petr Cech receives death threats after transfer to Arsenal from Chelsea
Petr Cech completed his £11m move from Chelsea to Arsenal yesterday after Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sanctioned the deal and while most of the reaction was constructive, there were some nasty messages on social media.
He made a personal point yesterday of thanking Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich "from the bottom of my heart" for over-ruling Jose Mourinho and sanctioning his £10m transfer to Arsenal.
Cech - regarded by both Mourinho and Arsene Wenger as one of the best in the world - will now report for pre-season training next Monday.
He has signed a four-year deal worth more than £100,000 a week and his first match should be the Community Shield against Chelsea on August 2.
Most of the reaction from Chelsea fans was positive as they thanked Cech for his 11 years of faithful service but some users posted death threats and downright despicable messages.
Meanwhile, one Chelsea fan in Kuwait posted a video of him burning a Chelsea goalkeeper shirt.
