Palace axe for Owen
CRYSTAL Palace have confirmed that Irish midfielder Owen Garvan (pictured) has been released.
And ex-Dundalk man Ben McLaughlin is also on the hunt for a new club after he was given a free transfer by Everton.
In total, Palace have axed 18 players from last season's squad, including Dubliner Garvan (27) who joined the Eagles from Ipswich in 2010 but has struggled in recent seasons spending time on loan to Millwall and Bolton.
McLaughlin leaves Goodison Park without having made a first-team appearance for the Toffees. But Everton have offered a new contract to 18-year-old Mateusz Hewelt, a Polish-born keeper who was raised in Ireland and has dual nationality.
