New City deal for Lawlor
MANCHESTER City have shown their faith in Irish keeper Ian Lawlor by handing him a new contract.
The U21 cap has yet to make an appearance for City's first team but he is highly regarded at Eastlands and has travelled with the first team for some of their Champions League games, and City have now agreed a contract extension.
"Delighted to have signed a new deal. Really happy to be here for the future, the hard work must continue now," Lawlor said on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Lawlor's fellow U21 international Liam McAlinden hopes to get some valuable first-team experience after he agreed a loan move from Wolves to League One side Fleetwood Town.
"Liam has been in and around the first team waiting for a regular opportunity and it's not quite come along so far. So it was felt it's a good idea now for him to go out and try and a run of regular games and score some goals," said Wolves coach Kevin Thelwell said.
McAlinden has made two sub appearances for Wolves this season.
