Neil Redfearn considering Leeds future
Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn is pondering his future after the suspension of assistant Steve Thompson over an "internal matter".
Thompson, who joined Redfearn's backroom staff from Huddersfield in December, has been stood down from his duties by director of football Nicola Salerno.
Both men are out of contract at the end of the season and Redfearn is now going to consider his position after admitting to being in the dark over yesterday's events. "Steve's been suspended. For what, I don't know. I don't understand it," Redfearn told a press conference previewing Leeds' Sky Bet Championship game with Blackburn tomorrow.
"I would have liked to have known about it beforehand. It seems a really strange decision and I'm bitterly disappointed. It's the ideal partnership. We bounce off each other.
"It's not ideal timing, it hasn't helped. I have to have a good, hard think now. Where before it was a no-brainer (to stay) I've got to have a think.
"It's disappointing. It's undermining, you're trying to put something together in the belief that you're getting the backing.
"It's unbalancing the stability that we had. It goes against everything we're doing. I love this football club. But this is a difficult situation for me."
The West Yorkshire club have refused to comment on the reason for Thompson's suspension.
