Mourinho challenges Martial to be 'magnificent'
Jose Mourinho has challenged Anthony Martial to be "magnificent" and give him a Premier League selection headache.
Speaking in advance of Manchester United's FA Cup tie against Wigan at Old Trafford tomorrow, Mourinho wants Martial to play so well that he cannot leave him out against Hull on Tuesday evening.
Martial was dropped from the last two match-day squads and was reported to be furious about the omission.
"I don't speak with the players about how they take it. He will play Sunday and if he plays magnificent, he will play against Hull City in the next match. It's simple," said Mourinho.
Martial is one of a number of changes planned by Mourinho after the exertions and celebrations surrounding qualification for the League Cup final against Southampton in midweek.
"I will make some changes. I have to," said the United boss. "We play Hull City again two days after Wigan but I'm going to play with a good team, a team with the responsibility to give the fans a good performance at home and with the responsibility to try to win," he added.
