McClaren to keep faith

championship

Derby head coach Steve McClaren hopes his new-look defence will again produce the goods in the Championship's game of the day against fellow promotion hopefuls Brentford.

A few eyebrows were raised on Monday when McClaren shuffled his back four for the Wigan game.

Captain Richard Keogh was moved from centre-back to right-back, with Craig Forsyth switched to centre-back to partner Raul Albentosa while Stephen Warnock was brought in for his first league start for the Rams at left-back.

Derby recorded a first victory and clean sheet in eight matches.

With Ryan Shotton and Jake Buxton still out injured, the same four will line up when fifth-placed Derby host the Bees today.

McClaren said: "It was okay for one game, now they have to do it again."
