Manchester United star Anthony Martial says he's in the dark over who will be in charge at Old Trafford next season but he's given his backing to current boss Louis van Gaal.

Martial's goal gave United the win they needed over Everton last week to keep them in the hunt for a Champions League place for next season, and he will be a key figure for the side for the rest of this season.

Whether Van Gaal is in charge next term is in question but while admitting he's aware of the reports of Jose Mourinho's possible arrival, Martial has faith in the incumbent.

"As long as the current coach is there, I don't think about it. If Mourinho must arrive, he will arrive. For the moment the coach is still there," Martial said,

"Every coach has their good and bad sides. Van Gaal has given me a lot of confidence and I try hard to pay it back to him every day."

Meanwhile, their rivals Manchester City insist they have an equal chance of making it past Paris St Germain and into the last four of the Champions League. "Both teams have options to continue to the next stage," says City boss Manuel Pellegrini ahead of tonight's tie in Paris.

"Maybe if it is a small team you can say they have less options to continue but I don't think it's that way. The options are 50 per cent for each team."
