Man City set to make huge bid for Paul Pogba
Juventus are bracing themselves for a huge Manchester City offer for their midfield star Paul Pogba.
Sources in Italy claim that the Blues are preparing to enter the auction for the former Manchester United star, and have moved ahead of Barcelona and Chelsea in the betting on his destination.
His agent Mino Raiola is intent on drumming up an auction for the player, and the bidding will start at the £45m Paris St Germain have offered for the Juventus ace.
The French club's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is also said to have met with Pogba and offered him £220,000 a week - but there are rumours that Pogba has already turned PSG down.
City are keen on 22-year-old Pogba, but the competition is fierce - with Paris still favourites to land him, and Real Madrid in the running.
And with Raiola talking to every big club in Europe, it seems they are intent on forcing the price as high as £75m.
Raiola is said to have met with Real executives at their team hotel in Turin ahead of last night's Champions League tie with Juve, which Pogba missed through injury.
And the day before, he is understood to have met with Barcelona, while Chelsea are also on his list of targets.
City need a central midfielder, with doubts over the future of Yaya Toure, and they would push the boat out for Pogba - but whether they can afford the kind of figures Juve, and Raiola, want, in this age of financial fair play, is debatable.
Meanwhile, Tottenham full-back Danny Rose has also been linked with a move to the Etihad as City seek to bring balance to their faltering backline.
Gael Clichy and Aleksander Kolarov have failed to impress on the left, and as City look to strengthen, Rose has been targetted. The 24-year-old could cost up to £15m to get him away from White Hart Lane.
However, James Milner could be leaving City as he is out of contract this summer, and has been linked with clubs across the continent. Liverpool and Arsenal have been leading the chase in England but sources close to the club say he is "destined for Anfield".
Milner's exit would leave a hole in City's squad, and Italian media say the Blues are looking at Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.
