Liverpool's Sakho linked with Baggies move
West Brom are set to offer Mamadou Sakho a January escape from Liverpool.
The Reds defender is expected to be allowed to leave Anfield after falling out of favour under Jurgen Klopp, and the Baggies are weighing up a loan move when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.
Sakho has not played for Liverpool since April, the result of a failed drugs test for which he was later cleared, as well as injury and disciplinary problems.
In August he was sent home from the pre-season tour of the USA after breaking club rules, and he later sent a series of social media posts in which he suggested there was "a lie" surrounding his absence from the team.
The Frenchman has since been working on his fitness with Michael Beale's U23 side, but is aware that he is behind Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Lucas Leiva and Ragnar Klavan in the centre-back pecking order under Klopp.
Sakho turned down the chance to leave on loan during the summer window and earlier this week, former team-mate Mario Balotelli urged Sakho to join him at Ligue One leaders Nice.
Meanwhile, Danny Ings has taken the first steps on the road to recovery from his latest injury nightmare.
The Liverpool striker has returned to Melwood to begin his rehabilitation after undergoing knee surgery last week.
Ings is expected to miss between seven and nine months with the injury, which he suffered during the Reds' League Cup win over Tottenham last month. The surgery was a success and the 24-year-old will now start the long journey back to fitness.
Ings missed the bulk of last season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a training session last October.
