Leigh Griffiths has urged Celtic fans to play their part in Thursday's crucial Europa League clash against Molde at Parkhead.

The in-form Hoops striker bagged a double and James Forrest added a third in Saturday lunchtime's convincing 3-1 home win over Aberdeen which left the champions six points clear of Hearts at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

After the game, Griffiths immediately turned his attention to the visit of the Norwegian side who triumphed 3-1 when the teams met in the Aker Stadion last month.

Celtic sit bottom of Group A with two points after three fixtures - five behind Molde, who top the pool ahead of Fenerbahce and Ajax.

However, after wins against Dundee United, Hearts and the Dons following their return from Molde, the 25-year-old - with 16 goals so far this term - is confident of getting back on track in Europe and is looking for help from the Hoops supporters.

"The Aberdeen game is forgotten about already and we look forward to Thursday," he said. "It is going to be a massive game and we need to win it to keep ourselves in the group.

"The team is playing with a lot of confidence just now.

"Hopefully we will get the fans behind us on Thursday night and make it an intimidating atmosphere for Molde.

"If we play at our best, we know we are capable of winning the game."
