Lawrence off to Salonika

FORMER Ireland man Liam Lawrence has completed his move to Greek outfit PAOK Salonika.

Winger Lawrence was forced to leave Portsmouth last week due to the League One club's financial difficulties, despite having two years left on his contract.

He has turned down offers from Championship clubs to move to PAOK, who will offer Lawrence a chance to play in Europe for the first time as they play Rapid Vienna in the play-off round of the Europa League.

Irish pair move to Scunthorpe

LEAGUE ONE side Scunthorpe United have signed up Irish pair Jordan Keegan and Mark Hughes.

Former Southampton man Keegan spent last season with Monaghan United but was left without a club when they withdrew from the League of Ireland.

Athy lad Hughes, 19, had been learning his trade with Belvedere.

"They have bags of potential and are really hungry to do well," said Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill.

"They'll both be thinking they can get in the first-team quickly -- and I like that."
