Karanka's Boro to go for win

Middlesbrough will approach their Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-final second leg with Brentford (live tonight Sky Sports 1, 7.45pm) with a must-win mentality, according to boss Aitor Karanka.

Boro, aiming to get back in the Barclays Premier League after six seasons away, welcome the Bees to the Riverside tonight holding a 2-1 advantage from last week's first leg in London.

That leaves Boro knowing a draw would be good enough to progress to the Wembley final where they would meet either Norwich or Ipswich.

And Karanka has urged his side to forget about their slender lead.

"I said after the first game that we have done nothing," he said. "We have to go to the pitch thinking it will be a difficult game. They are a very good team and we have to be focused from the first minute.

"This kind of game anything can happen, we could score, they could score, we are one goal up but we have to play as though the score is 0-0.

"I don't know how to arrange a draw, we have to go to the pitch thinking that we have to win the game," he added.
