Jose set to lose De Gea
There is a confusing inconsistency in everything Jose Mourinho has said about David de Gea.
Mourinho has made grandiose claims that the Europa League is the most important trophy in Manchester United's history.
It's certainly the most important in his short history at United and for him rather than the club.
If that is the case, he should be playing one of the world's top goalkeepers in the final against Ajax next Wednesday.
Hard on Sergio Romero but if a trophy is so important, I would want to give myself the best chance to win it and that should mean de Gea starts.
Worse than that, Mourinho effectively let De Gea off for the summer when he said that the next time he would play would be in Manchester United's pre-season tour in America.
That is very strange indeed. Will he be on the bench in Stockholm or sitting on a beach?
I would want, at the very least, United's best player for at least two of the last three seasons sitting beside me in case I needed him.
Unless De Gea is off to Madrid and Jose is looking for a new goalkeeper?
