Mourinho credits himself with leading Chelsea to brink of title
JOSE Mourinho has rubbished suggestions that his players are the most important of Chelsea's march on the Premier League title by claiming: "It's all about me".
"Chelsea leadership is my leadership," he said. "For good and for bad. It's not the players' leadership. Their place is in the dressing room."
Chelsea play Leicester City at the King Power Stadium tonight and a win would leave them in a position to shut down the Premier League title race early against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
But Mourinho does not believe that such a comprehensive win by Chelsea would put the club well ahead of rivals.
"Chelsea lost, in the end of last year, what I consider for sure, one of the five most important players in the history of the club: Frank Lampard. We lost that player. But life goes on.
"It's even more difficult to dominate than before. How can you speak about domination when everyone knows what will happen next summer?
"Arsenal have a phenomenal squad. The other night, Thierry Henry said they need four top-class players. Give Arsenal four top-class players and I think they will again be the Invincibles.
"Man United have a phenomenal squad, including the most expensive player in the history of the Premier League (Angel Di Maria) - who is not playing!"
"So you see the quality of the squad. They are a club where FFP doesn't make a big difference and they will invest hugely again in the summer."
