Irish stars axed from clubs
LEAGUE of Ireland clubs are on alert after ex-Sligo Rovers star Pádraig Amond was released by Morecambe.
Carlow lad Amond was Morecambe's second-top scorer last season but the club are making changes for next term and Amond was one of eight players released.
Meanwhile, League Two rivals Exeter City have confirmed that ex-Ireland striker Clinton Morrison has not been offered a new deal, though he could return for the start of next term. "There may be some movement later in the off-season regarding some of the squad players, so I'm not closing the door to a possible return for Clinton once the team begins to take shape," said boss Paul Tisdale.
