Hunt lines out for 45 minutes for the reserves

STEPHEN HUNT took a major step towards full fitness last night when he played his first game of football in eight months, writes Aidan

Fitzmaurice.

Hunt has yet to play a first-team game for Wolves since his summer move from Hull City due to a foot injury.

But Mick McCarthy was relieved to see the Waterford man start a game for the Wolves reserves last night, a 2-1 defeat to Wigan in front of less than 300 fans at Molineux last night.

Hunt started the game and was taken off at half-time as a precaution, and he will look to build up his fitness in a second reserve match next week before forcing his way into the first team.
