High five for Irish star Seamus as he claims Everton equaliser

Seamus Coleman has challenged the Premier League's statisticians and claimed Everton's goal in their midweek draw with Stoke City.

The stats show that the Ireland captain is on four league goals for the season but Coleman insists that Everton's strike in midweek, listed as an own goal, was his.

"I'm claiming it 100%," says Coleman. "I've cut inside, hit a shot, just trying to get it on target with my left foot and from my angle it looks like it goes into the bottom corner.

"Whether the keeper saves it is another thing but the rules are if it's going on target it's a goal. I know the camera angle isn't the best but I'm 100% claiming that one as my goal, my fifth of the season."

Everton look to extend their unbeaten run at home to Bournemouth tomorrow. "We know they are a strong team. They did not have a good result in the week but they are really a good team offensively," says boss Ronald Koeman.
