Green tips Rotherham for Championship push

IRELAND international Paul Green believes that his new club, Rotherham United, can make an impact in the Championship next season.

Green, released by Leeds United at the end of last season, spoke to a number of clubs before agreeing a deal with Rotherham, newly promoted from League One. "It's an honour to be here because Rotherham are a team that are going to go forward," says Green.

"Everything the gaffer said about the club the way he was taking it forward sounded exciting and there are really exciting times here.

"They've just been promoted so there will be a buzz around the place and if we can take that into next season we'll surprise a few teams.

"With the group of players he's got here and the players the
gaffer has brought in, I think we've got a good chance in the Championship and I wouldn't be here if I didn't think they were going to go far," added Green, who won his 22nd senior cap against Italy in May.
