Forde is out of qualifiers
DAVID FORDE will miss Ireland's World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria next month as the Millwall man needs surgery on a knee injury.
Forde (pictured), who has established himself as Ireland's first-choice keeper and has started in the last three qualifiers, picked up a knock in Millwall's defeat to Yeovil on Saturday and following a scan on the knee, it's been confirmed that Forde needs an operation.
That will sideline the 33-year-old for six weeks, ruling him out of next week's friendly away to Wales as well as that crucial World Cup double header at home to Sweden and away to Austria.
Keiren Westwood, who last started a competitive game against the Faroe Islands last year, is now in line to take over from Forde.
